Three Different Lighting Scenarios

Back to the oregano...

Sunlight:

 Diffusion with the curtain:

 Flash:

My favorite of the three would have to be the first picture, with the direct sunlight. I like how the shadows are showcased and highlighted, unlike with the diffusion which has softer shadows. I never really liked flash, because it seems to white wash the whole scene. It's just too sharp and too bright.

  1. I too really liked your first photo. I like how the vibrant green stands out against the blurred background. I also liked how abstract your second photo looked. It's crazy how different the same photo can look with different lighting

  2. These are all fantastic, your choice of subject and pictures are the perfect example for this assignment and how lighting can change a shot. Great work!

  3. I agree with you, the first one is my favorite too. The sunlight makes the green a richer looking, the other lighting washes out the green a bit.

  4. I really like how you captured the texture of the oregano in the first photo. The second was a little blurry, is it suppose to be? It adds a softness to the photograph. The final photo is really interesting because it highlights the plant but in a different way than the first.

  5. Nice job with the lighting on your oregano. The first photo is my favorite and does a good job showing the sunlight on one side and the shadows on another.
